Cover Version by Hippie James

August 17, 2018

Dear Readers,

Got a pleasant surprise this week. Hippie James, James Collins, heard my song on a FaceBook songwriters group, “Rock, Punk Songwriters – Original Music Only”, and did a cover version of my song, Bam! Bam! Bam!

Hippie James and Greebly Mork did the cover with Arthur doing the fine guitar lead in the middle. James has also supplied a link to my original version on his site. Thanks to all involved!

Lyrics

Bam! Bam! Bam!
You got 10 minutes more
Ready or not I’m going out that door

Bam! Bam! Bam!
Nobody gets in late
Either get there on time or they give you the gate!

Bam! Bam! Bam!
I think we’re just in time.
If we came a minute late, Id lost my mind.

Music! Songs! Music!

July 19, 2018

Music Music Music! Songs Songs Songs!

From January 6th 2017 to July 2, 2018 I have written the music to 225 songs!

That is more than 12 a month for 18 months. Brings my total to over 1,950 songs. The 225 songs are from Song #1730 – #1955.

For comparison, the Beatles wrote about 190 songs total in their career. I did more than that in 18 months, and ten times that in total so far. But are they anywhere as good? Play them and see for yourself!

I had planned to record many of these, but I’m not going to go into a recording studio until the music stops flowing!

So instead I’ve done some, NOT studio recordings, but rough minute demos of some of these 225 songs.

Please go to my youtube channel, listen to any that interest you, and give them a thumbs up (literally just lifting a finger.) Search TomHendricksMusea or video floor at the big website.

Road – Video

June 1, 2018

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCTx6CblZFc

Dear Reader,

Here’s a new video ROAD (chorus). By Hunkasaurus and HIs Pet Dog Guitar.
This is a demo not studio recording of my song #1913 written April 12.. For studio songs see my 9 CDs.

This song is all GO! – Just a chorus and a chord!
Great song for when you are on the road and have no where you have to be.

I kept it simple to keep the song on the move. Take a listen and let me know what you think. I’ve been in a songwriting spree and I haven’t had time to go to the studio. So for now this will have to do!

HEADPHONES ARE BEST – also see my youtube channel for many more rough demos of recent songs. or tomhendricks.us for the studio work.

Gaining Ground – Independent Labels

May 22, 2018

Dear Reader,

The independent labels are gaining ground. This year is the 2nd in a row that Independent Labels control a bigger share of music revenues than any of the 3 major labels.

This from the digital music article “Collectively, Indie Labels are Now Bigger Than Any Major Label”

Indie labels are now outranking major labels in terms of total marketshare. In fact, this is the second-straight year that’s happened.

Rankings are based on revenues earned, instead of units sold or total streams.

Specifically, indies pulled a 32.2 percent marketshare, with Universal Music Group following at 29.7 percent. Sony Music Group finished with 21.9 percent, while Warner Music Group lagged with 16.7 percent.

Independents 32%

Universal (UMG) 30%
Sony (SME) 22%
Warner (WMG) 16%
