Come See My Garden (poem)

April 21, 2018

Here’s a poem for any kids who love the garden.

In my garden
everything grows;
I planted straw,
I planted stones.
I planted candy
and moonlight too.
I planted laughs
and the color blue.
I planted clods
that sprouted shoots.
Come see my garden.
It’s all in bloom!

Cannot support KERA / Texas Standard

April 19, 2018

KERA,

Cannot support you during your pledge drive because KERA / Texas Standard will not support the innovative music scene in Dallas whose progressive music ideas are sweeping the country.

My 25 year old Dallas zine, will encourage our readers not to support KERA for this reason.

Two Music Videos

April 14, 2018

Dear Reader,

Two new youtube videos.

Two rough music videos recorded live. These are previews of songs I hope to record in a studio later like my 9 albums, 150 songs.

GOODBYE TO WAR (youtube video) 1:14 long
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxL6lQQ_83Q

Protest song. Though I’ve written 1,900 songs this is one of the few protest songs. But it just seemed due. Remember too that mainstream radio does not play any protest songs ever! That’s part of the music (and arts and media) revolution.

LULLABY (youtube video) :30 long.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnlpvhiZYWQ

This is a Mother Goose Rhyme with a melody I wrote and sang a cappella.

Poems of Love and Loss

April 12, 2018

1.
When you
drink this tea
let it’s scent
recall this day.

2.
Emotional Blackmail
(My version of a poem by Blair Ewing)

For my art I charge no rent
for your space within my heart.
Nor do I pray God’s interference.
(Seek no ends, only soft words
between two friends I thought were close.)

And if my reasons won’t persuade,
plagued with error and tinged with rage
Lady, the blame is mine alone.
Let the error die on the page.

3.
He called her “First Snow”.
That was his pet name for her.
She swirled around him and made him smile,
and agitated his eyes in a good way.
She brought to his cheeks a rose red
and her every touch tingled.

4.
If she needs a kidney, I” give her three!

5.
She thought and thought –
his gray winter coat
fading into the
brown and bare branches

6.
Does it really
do any harm
to love another
from afar?

7.
Don’t go to sleep
my dear, my dear.
Watch over me
until I do.

3 Reasons For You to Support the Music Revolution

April 10, 2018

3 Reasons to Support the Music Revolution

The music revolution sweeping the country came from Musea zine in Dallas. Here are 3 reasons you should support it and become a part of it.

1. You are a musician that made less than 15K last year (minimum wage), while a very few major stars make that in 2 hours. 1% of musicians make 70% of the money.

2. You are a woman. 3 CEOs control 80% of the music industry – all are men, no women allowed. Time for women to become a part of the music industry and break that glass ceiling!

3. You love good music, but hate current radio, concert prices, media that always praises the same bland musicians, best selling charts that can’t be trusted, online streaming sales that never get to the musician, and that music never changes.
