Box Office Concerts at the Inwood Theater, suspended after 17 Years

The first and only box office concerts, at the Inwood Theater , after 17 years, have been suspended, and most likely cancelled by management.

For a decade and a half, Tom Hendricks, as “Hunkasaurus and His Pet Dog Guitar”, played two shows every Tuesday and two on Wednesday, in the box office ticket booth, behind the glass.

In between shows Hendricks would sell tickets. Performances happened through both cold winter days and hot summer nights.

Hendricks and his ’64 Silvertone Guitar would play a mix of originals, and classics – vocal and guitar accompaniment, or instrumentals. The 6 CD “Outside The Box Set”, from Musea Records, reflects many of those songs.

That may now be Dallas Music History.

The most common comment he would get when playing, was reported as, “I thought you were a Radio!”
