Postmod Art or NO-ISM (revolution in painting)

POSTMOD ART or NO-ISM : This page is all about the new art movement.

My goal is to get painting out of the Ivory Towers and back into the world.

Conceptual art ended MODERN ART. And for the last 40 years no one has known what to do with it!

Here’s why I think Modern art is neither modern nor art (or at least not very good art) anymore. 1. Cold  2. Disjointed  3. Can’t communicate it’s message  4. Weird  5. Elitist  6. Technically poor if there is technique at all  7. Pompous and inflated, often takes up a room   8. Non functional, not useful, not integrated into life 9. No breath or scope. Modern Art

Modern art
you’ve lost your way.
I’d rather see
a comic book,
fashion drawings,
or children’s art,
an illustration,
or anything but
Modern art
you’ve lost your way!

SAYINGS

Weird art is easy. You put a strip of raw bacon across an expensive violin – but it’s not great art!

Modern art is the salon art of our day.

Look at that
pencil and pen.
How many drawings
are left in them?

Sometimes painting needs bigger themes then ‘look I’m weird and have problems’.

Postism – a back to basics art that takes art forward.

Modern art – it’s either fishy or fowl.

There is a difference between a sketch and a sloppy painting. The first is fresh and lively. The second is unfinished and needs work

Reblogged this on Musea Zine and commented:

This post is a reblog of one of two main pages I have on the visual art revolution – see what I think the new art may look like. Overall more direct, honest, and less trendy.

  2. musea Says:

How do you find the new art? First step – go outside the galleries. Look for those that oppose modern art, or are artists that do comic books, fashion drawings, or children’s art, or illustrators, etc.
Then look for a back to basics art that is more than puffed up trendy stuff or weird for weird’s sake. (I welcome you to check out my work and the work of my friends too.) Take my checklist with you and avoid those problem works at all cost!”

  3. musea Says:

Let’s be honest. As an artist myself, I know that a key to great art is that it communicates it’s message to you clearly. If you, looking at a painting, don’t understand it or don’t get it – it may be the fault of the artist, not you. When an artist has to explain what he’s doing, that’s because the paint didn’t explain it well enough. Sure you have to have a basic understanding of art, but beyond that, it’s the job of the artist. I love all kinds of art including realism, abstractions and even conceptual art. But I see so much fakery in mainstream art that I’m leading a revolution against it and towards postmod art.

  5. musea Says:

Making weird art is not innovative, it’s just the opposite. It is clone art of those that did it 100 years ago. Duchamp, Dadaists, Surrealists. This emperor has no clothes. And the art media and art establishment should be ashamed of propping up this out of touch art as if it was innovative, new, or had vitality.
