FIRST WORLD TOP 40 LIST! BEST MUSIC LIST in the WORLD!!! (And hardest to get on!) Never before – or probably never again in history, will anyone hear such great new music all at once. The internet is the world’s first worldwide JUKEBOX. And this is the first music in that jukebox.  The first OUTSIDE THE BOX set. Week after week Musea, my 23 year old Dallas art and media zine scours the net for the very best in music from every corner of the world for the world’s first list of new great music. First World Top 40 ___________________________

WANT SOME REAL CHANGE?  FIRST STEPS Want some change? Real change not just more sound alikes? Want some revolution? Start with no electric guitars, bass, or drums. Why? That forces musicians to think outside of a 60 year old, generic rock, formula, and forces people to be creative and innovative etc. So really want revolution? Leave the Big 3, the 3 corporations that own the music business (Warners, Universal, Sony); and oppose their stranglehold on music. So really want revolution/ Oppose videos, as being too expensive for most musicians to make, and that shifts the emphasis back on the music not the visuals. So really want revolution? Dump corporate sponsors. So really want revolution? Stop writing your own songs, and let professional songwriters write good songs again. So really want revolution? Support the Postism revolution coming out of Dallas and the zine Musea.. ___________________________

MY MUSICAL HISTORY One standard guitar, one voice, one revolution: My Music:  Trying to lead the new music with some rebellion and vitality that includes these CONTENDERS FOR WORLD’S FIRSTS in music: 1. First music to oppose what 60 year old rock/rap/country/pop have become, and start a new back to basic music. First new music of this century. 2. Postmod Music is part of the larger art and media revolution started by the Zine Musea 20 years ago. http://www.musea.us/ 3. First Box Office Concerts. Guitar and voice concerts from the Inwood Movie Theater in Dallas played IN THE BOX OFFICE. – Glass Booth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MjygxvUPpo 4. Bringing the ROLL back ! (the roll that rock and roll and popular music has lost).  Too much of the music today is like gum without the flavor. Something is missing. It’s the oil, the “roll” in rock and roll. That’s the oil in the machine! 8. First artist’s first CD, a 9 CD SET of 150 songs HUNKASAURUS AND HIS PET DOG GUITAR, Outside the Box Set”. HIT SONG CHALLENGE Let’s go beyond the music hype and get the music facts. Compare how many musicians had 3-6 big hits from the period of 1955-1975, with the corporate music era of 1995-2014. https://musea.wordpress.com/2014/05/27/hit-song-challenge/ ———————————————–

THE BIG THREE:  Instead of thousands of small record companies from every town in the country, competing on quality, we have 3 who own 80% of the music business. Warners/ Universal/ Sony (WUS). What they don’t own outright, they distribute. It has led to safe, generic ,formulaic, music  from a few stars, and an almost complete loss of vitality. Why have all the creative people been marginalized? Where are they? https://musea.wordpress.com/2014/06/03/why-have-all-the-creative-people-been-marginalized-where-are-they/ Have you gotten the corporate memo?  Music is only these 5 musicians https://musea.wordpress.com/2013/10/24/music-down-to-these-5-beyonce-beiber-lady-gaga-perry-and-swift/ ———————————————

WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE SAYING BAD MUSIC IS GOOD?
Why are So Many People Saying Bad Music is Good? https://musea.wordpress.com/2015/03/24/why-are-so-many-people-saying-bad-music-is-good/

VIDEOS ARE OUT Right now only the richest musicians back by the largest corporations can afford making videos (short films with big budgets). The Eighties are over. Time to put the emphasis on the audio music, not the visuals or the singer.  by getting rid of videos, the playing field is more fair, and the competition to get good music is much wider.  Back to basics music, means you don’t need a record company, all you need is a voice and guitar and some good music .  Back to basics means music is open to all on talent not depth of pockets. ———————————————-

COMMENTS POEMS SAYINGS ON POSTMOD MUSIC https://musea.wordpress.com/2013/08/24/rock-n-roll-poems/ ——————————————-

ROCK AND ROLL DOESN’T ROCK NO MORE Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more. It’s turned middle age and become a bore. It’s everything it used to oppose. Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more. Rock and roll is corporate and dull. It’s phony music that’s lost its soul. It’s paint-by-number and rotten to the core. Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more. Rock and roll has got to go. Base, drums, and guitars are so so-so. Enough of the clones of clones of clones. Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more. Rock and roll has got to go. Its taken 60 years but now it’s so. It’s lost the beat and doesn’t roll. Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more. Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more. It’s a has-been and It’s your father’s olds. It’s spirit is gone and the choir all knows Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more. c Tom Hendricks, 2010 but free to reprint in full. (Just one person’s opinion) —————————————–

    Reblogged this on Musea Zine.

  2. musea Says:

Some of us think that the music business is stuck in the same electric guitar, bass, and drums formula done better 60 years ago. Some of us think the real creativity is to break free of bands and go a different way from the 60 year old path that everyone else is on.
We call it postism music. It’s back to basics music, with emphasis on quality songs and melody more than the personality performing them.

  3. Joe Piecora Says:

Musea, I like your philosophy. With a programmer-partner, I have done a lot to further the goals that you just described. You are looking for us, and we are looking for you.
I have a major domain name and a good chance of securing start-up money to implement the indie-music changes you describe. I agree that they are just common sense, and that we must “war” against the fakers who have destroyed the recording biz over the past 6 decades. We have a shot at it if we can agree on a format and an approach. I l hope you will decide to learn more about us at stoned.com…we should be launching full-scale soon.

    Q. Corporate art is a real influenza in my life. It bugs me!

    Q. Don’t look at me in that tone of voice!

    Q. We have met the enemy and it is not us!

    Q. A mind is a terrible thing to fill with waste.

    Q. Musea to Corporate Art … taking the wind out of your sales!

    Q. A race against slime!

    Q. It’s better to be a good businessman then to give the customers the business.

    Q. Well if you appreciate my business, why am I on hold?

Q If you don’t take a stand, you take a fall.

    Q. Musea, another rectangular circular;

    Q. Serving all your art revolutionary needs since 1992.

  5. musea Says:

Music cannot get better and it is not a generational problem. The best musicians today are very talented. But 3 CEO’s control 80% of music, Warners, Universal, and Sony; and they only promote a very small number of teen pop stars and marginalize the rest.

  6. musea Says:

Mainstream radio is saying loud and clear, “Texas we hate your music and will never play it. so listen to what we tell you to, buy what we advertise and shut up – no protest songs allowed ever!

Till there are protest songs on mainstream radio, we have proof that 3 music CEO’s control the government. (CEO’s from Warners, Universal, Sony control 80% of the music industry). These three tell the government to never protest, you can only sing our tune.

  7. musea Says:

Dallas is a good place for the future.

You shouldn’t film a good song, you should play it.

Till Mickey Mouse is in the Public Domain, corporations control the government. Disney tells the government to jump and they say how high Mickey?

  8. musea Says:

Top one percent of musicians get about 77% of the money. So if you are doing nothing you are against all indie musicians on the planet.

  9. musea Says:

I don’t play music like my grandfather played in the early 1900s, so why are musicians today playing music like their grandfather did in the 1950s, 60s? Get your own, be original, show some innovation.

Few creative rock n roll musicians ever played in a band. They played in groups and combos. When the term bands came into existence rock n roll had already become flat, generic, and bland.

  10. musea Says:

Music MEDIA, what will you do? Report on the cutting edge of the change in music, or ride the coat tails of corporate music with another irrelevant press release.

  11. musea Says:

Should the music media cover what they want to promote or what we want to hear?

The 3 Major record companies have sewed up vinyl production.

Radio is playing what they want to promote, not what we want to hear.

  12. musea Says:

Comment – every generic band says that they are doing original music, – that’s part of being generic!

  13. musea Says:

    Just how much boredom
    will you support
    before you back change
    and their advocates?

  14. musea Says:

I’m old enough to remember when country music was country music

  15. musea Says:

The music business is auto tuned!

1% of musicians make 70% of the money. That means that 1% should contribute 70% of the money given to charity by musicians.

I’m old enough to remember when country music was country music

In the 70s music split into either sappy or psychotic (all melody or all beat.) The best music is the combination of both.

  16. musea Says:

When Warner, Universal, Sony, don’t sign you – you have no chance. When Warner, Universal, Sony does sign you, you will be lawyered out of your money and you have no chance.

  17. Tom Hendricks Says:

Madonna says, “Everything’s so formulaic, and every song has 20 guest artists on it and everyone sounds the same.”

  18. musea Says:

When Warner, Universal, Sony, don’t sign you – you have no chance. When Warner, Universal, Sony does sign you, you will be lawyered out of your money and you have no chance.

What can you do? Something! Anything! Just about anything you do will help!

2 1/2 minute songs are taut dramatic and well structured. 4+ minute songs ramble, repeat, and over stay their welcome.

KXT is an AAA radio format Anemic audio from automatons! /affected.

Rock ‘n Roll was never meant for adults.

Not a singer-songwriter, not a band, something in between, something new!
