Musea Art Contest 4/1/08

March 31, 2008

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of: You are there! It’s Feb 7, 1964, 1:20PM EST at JFK Airport. The BEATLES have landed in America. Down the ramp came George, John, Paul, and Ringo. But who walked off the plane next? Clue This American had music that was almost as famous as the Beatles! IS: PHIL SPECTOR. Sidenote. Spector hates flying and it was reported he paced the aisles the entire way across the pond! I had no correct eligible answers. All I heard was a “Null of sound”! I don’t dumb down, so please wise up. Now on to a new Q.: Win a copy of my NEW cd CALLED ‘30′! – (first anti-band CD) or my NEWER cd CALLED ‘NEXT” or my NEWEST cd CALLED ‘THIRDS” (May ‘07) or my SOON TO BE RELEASED cd CALLED ‘FOUR-TH’ Hunkasaurus.com if you are the first to e-mail me at THIS NEW ADDRESS: tom-hendricks@att.net with the correct answer to this art question* P.G. Musea E-mail Club #419: Art Wiki

March 25, 2008

The next issue of Musea is my “History” issue. I take a look at a lot of aspects of history. One thing I suggest in the issue is that we set up a history wiki. It would be like the popular wikipedia that is online now, but for history articles. When I was thinking and writing about that, it dawned on me that another great idea would be an ART wiki, a site dedicated to all aspects of art. I couldn’t cover that in my issue of Musea, but I can talk about that side note here. For those of you who don’t know what wikipedia is, it is an online encyclopedia that anyone can add to or edit. See wikipedia.org Our art wiki would include articles on every major museum, church or temple, art center, major work of art, sculpture, architecture etc. It would also talk about music, literature, libraries, photos, and all the rest of the art world, with biographies of major artists and art movements. I would suggest that both the HIstory and the Art wiki be outside the control of any person, corporation, or nation; and be somehow a joint world venture that encompasses all the art of the world. An Art Wiki would be an easy way to set up a world library of art. What do you think?

Musea Art Contest 3/24/08

March 24, 2008

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of: It’s early 1940’s – probably a dark and stormy day like now as I write this – with thunder, lightning and the rat tat tat of raindrops like a machine gun!!! Well I got carried away. Anyway – RKO’s president George Schaefer is approached by a representative of MGM’s parent company with an offer on behalf of Louis B Mayer and other Hollywood executives. They will reimburse RKO the TOTAL picture cost if they’ll destroy THAT film! What film do all the studio heads want to destroy? IS Citizen Kane. Fact – a print of the film was sent by RKO to William Randolf Hearst at San Simeon (the inspiration for Kane and the man pressuring RKO to dump the unflattering film!). But it was returned. Apparently Hearst didn’t look at it because the seals they had placed on each reel were unbroken. Info from Citizen Kane by RL Carringer. I had no correct eligible answers. Not Rosebud, but “No Bud – wrong answer!” I don’t dumb down, so please wise up. Now on to a new Q.: Win a copy of my NEW cd CALLED ‘30′! – (first anti-band CD) or my NEWER cd CALLED ‘NEXT” or my NEWEST cd CALLED ‘THIRDS” (May ‘07) or my SOON TO BE RELEASED cd CALLED ‘FOUR-TH’ Hunkasaurus.com if you are the first to e-mail me at THIS NEW ADDRESS: tom-hendricks@att.net with the correct answer to this art question* You are there! Musea E-mail Club #418: Cover Boy Tom!

March 19, 2008

Lone Star Webstation, a website for Texas Music News, by Marquetta from Dallas, has made me the cover story AND featured one of my new photos. Please read all about it at http://www.lonestarwebstation.com/mtmkfront.html Thanks LSW – I am honored. Also if you keep reading on the website, you’ll see an article on Neil Young’s website, ‘Living With War Today’. The site features over 2,500 protest songs on the war and other subjects. I’ve submitted my own song, ‘AOL Can Go And Tank Tomorrow’. Ever wonder why you never hear a protest song on mainstream radio? I have. And it’s not because there aren’t any as this list proves. Lone Star Webstation inspired me to do more photos. IF you have myspace access, or a trick to getting it, please see http://www.myspace.com/musead and click ‘pics’ under the photo I’ve got 10+ new photos up there. They are the best of many attempts. Check them out.
