was the most sophisticated look at literature I’ve ever seen.

New York State Library. It was donated by Mike Gunderloy
He founded Factsheet Five in 1982. It became THE magazine
of zine reviews. And a zine explosion followed.

Thursday the 5-th at HUNKASAURUS.COM at 7PM, webmaster Matthew will flick the switch and post all 12 songs to the new CD. From 7:01 on, you are invited to listen to any or all songs on the list for the next two hours. Drop in anytime within that time period. And if you like, you can switch to my blog and comment on the CD, this new type of music, or ask any question you like. Or just read what others are saying. If you miss hearing it then, you’ll have to wait awhile before the CD will be posted online again.

WHAT IS THE ART AND MEDIA REVOLUTION?

Start with Post-Bands music. I am the first, AFAIK, to openly oppose what rock and popular music have become. So these CD’s are the first for a new type of music. NEW CENTURY, NEW MUSIC! I suggest a new, back to basics music that is a more honest and simple music. My version is voice and guitar, with emphasis on good songs (covers and originals – best from new and old), great melodies, solid lyrics, and honest straightforward singing. See what you think. The surrealist masterpiece painting by Rene Magritte with the English translated title that ” This Is not a pipe”. The painting shows a painting of a pipe with the words ‘ceci n’est pas une pipe” under it. The idea being it is a picture of a pipe not a real pipe. A koan of sorts!

Reader,

Scenario: I’ve got a copy of the ‘Secret Garden’ that I loved reading as a child. IF I give this copy to a child now in 2009 …. I’ve broken the law and can face a $100,000 fine or time in jail. And sadly I am not kidding.

No, 2009 is not 1984, but it seems close. This is so outrageous that I wonder how it got past America? But it did. And it’s the law.

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), is a law passed by congress in August 2008 in response to the fear of lead in toys from China. The Consumer Product Safety Commission, the agency charged with enforcement, issued guidelines specifying that all children’s books published before 1985 would become illegal to sell unless they passed a lead-content test (which costs $300-$600 a book). Experts say this is pretty stupid and the lead in some inks wouldn’t be bad if kids ate them.

The books are allowed for collectors, but if and only if no kid sees the kids books!

Used book stores, thrift shops, libraries etc. are put into a spot.

What are they supposed to do – burn them! At Fahrenheit 451?
