Though the Big 4, EMI, SONY BMG, Universal, and Warners control about 70-80% of the music biz (which has pretty much killed mainstream music – it really is that bad), they don’t yet control the net. Wow music is growing.
Corporate music pretty much makes the music, distributes the music, showcases the music on their TV and radio shows, then gives their own music, great reviews on the media they own. But some of that is changing. And no one in corporate art, not even with all their gazillions, can make rock or a rock band sound anything but last century boring.
Divas are self absorbed and sound alike, boy bands are clones, indies manage to overproduce everything into the ground and can’t write a hit. The worse the music gets the more it’s praised by a media that should know better. Sooner or later most, like you and others, will get your fill of this. I’m going with the WOW, or post-bands music. Have you had enough yet?
